Jungle Escape (A Short Story in 100 Words)

All was calm in the Amazon Rainforest; steam rose from the bold, green leafy plants. Ove the orangutan was swinging happily through the tall elegant trees.

Suddenly, Ove swung into a hidden net and fell heavily to the ground. A man came along and said, “You’re off to Queen Victoria, little beast.”

Ove tore at the net with his big, strong hands. He climbed out and harshly pushed the furious poacher over. Ove clambered across the forest floor and then scrambled up the tallest tree.

The poacher staggered dizzily to his feet but Ove was safe in the lofty treetops.

  • You’ve managed to fit an incredible amount of action and description into such a short piece of writing – I’m impressed!
